From an old book printed in the year 1689.
TO MAKE A CATHOLICK PUDDING.
Of oates new thash'd at Tyburn take two pound,
Of chios wine enough the same to drownd;
Of Malmsbury and Hobbs take ounces eight,
Of a quack's conscience add an equal weight:
Of juries finely pack'd take one ounce more,
Six Irish witnesses just come on shore;
Season it well with atheistick lies,
'Twill make a pudding that will clear your eyes.
